Ann Frischkorn Chenoweth, MBA, RHIA, is an accomplished leader with a strong background in health information management, business management, and association leadership. Chenoweth is senior director of industry relations and market research for 3M Health Information Systems. In this role, she works closely with AHIMA, HIMSS, HFMA, and ACHE
leadership and their association members in building relationships and thought leadership.
She has been active in ILHIMA, serving as president and other board of directors and committee positions. Chenoweth currently serves on the UHIMSS Board of Directors and works closely with UHIMA in cosponsoring educational programs for both UHIMA and UHIMSS members
throughout the state of Utah. She has presented on numerous subjects, including ICD- 10, clinical documentation improvement, and coding technology trends. Chenoweth is an HIM graduate of Indiana University and received an MBA from DePaul University in Chicago, IL.
Position Statement Question: What do you think the highest strategic priorities should be
for AHIMA?
Vanessa Duplechain, MS, RHIA, is vice president of operations at Information Management Partners in Honolulu, HI, and is co-owner of Health Information Resource Group, an
HIM coding company. She is also the part-time program director for Heald College’s Health
Information Technology Program in Honolulu. Duplechain has been co-chair for AHIMA’s
Higher Education and Workforce Task Force Team. She has represented her state association,
HIMHA, as president and director and served on numerous committee positions. Duplechain
has a passion for the HIM profession and an unquenchable desire to work toward the development of students and growing the profession.
Position Statement Question: What experiences make you quali;ed for this position?
Renato L. Estrella, MSHA, RHIA, FAHIMA, is senior director at IPRO in New York with
a signi;cant record of accomplishment that demonstrates his leadership skills and strong commitment to the profession. He serves as adjunct faculty member for Molloy College. Estrella led
the HIM departments at two New York hospitals and served in various other HIM positions. He
has provided leadership through service for NYHIMA and LIHIMA, serving as a past president
and chairman of the acute care coding committee, the strategic planning committee, and the
2011 NYHIMA Annual Conference. He currently serves AHIMA as co-chair of the House Team:
Best Practices/Standards. He has also served as a facilitator for AHIMA’s Coding Community
Council and a member of the coding roundtable. He has earned numerous honors and awards
from his peers, including the Distinguished Member, Clinical Preceptor, and HIM Champion
and Author Awards. He has authored articles published in the Journal of AHIMA, Advance, and
other publications.
