RHIT and RHIA
Now Accredited by NCCA!
AHIMA is proud to announce that the National
Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) has
granted accreditation to AHIMA’s Registered Health
Information Technician (RHIT) and Registered Health
Information Administrator (RHIA) certification
programs. This follows the NCCA accreditation of
AHIMA’s Certified Coding Associate (CCA) certification
program, which was granted in 2010, so that now
AHIMA has three accredited certification programs.
This accomplishment establishes AHIMA as the industry
leader in accredited HIIM certification programs,
and advances AHIMA’s organizational mission of
positioning AHIMA members and certificants as
recognized leaders in advancing professional practice
and standards in HIIM. This national recognition
further enhances the value of AHIMA-credentialed
professionals in the healthcare industry.
The CCA, RHIT, and RHIA are accredited by the
National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
The Commission on Certification for Health Informatics and Information Management
(CCHIIM) manages and sets the strategic direction for the certifications. AHIMA
certification is grounded in a tradition of excellence from a not-for-profit professional
association that has been serving HIM professionals since 1928. When a person earns an
AHIMA certification, they join a network of esteemed peers recognized nationally as the
best in the field.
