AHIMA Announces
Lynne Thomas Gordon as CEO
Lynne Thomas Gordon, MBA, RHIA, FACHE
LYNNE THOMAS GORDON, MBA, RHIA,
FACHE, has joined AHIMA as chief executive officer. The association’s Board
of Directors announced the appointment
September 8, and she assumed duties
September 29.
Thomas Gordon joins AHIMA after
serving as associate vice president for
hospital operations and director of the
Children’s Hospital at Rush University
Medical Center. She also is a member of
the Rush University faculty in the graduate program in health systems management.
She looks forward to “helping move the
organization forward in challenging yet
exciting times,” she says, “making sure
people not only understand our vision but
live it and breathe it—making our vision
come alive.”
She is eager to begin working with the
board and association staff and meeting
members and volunteers and looks for-
ward to “talking to everyone and learn-
ing from one another.” AHIMA’s annual
convention, beginning just days after her
appointment, will provide her with plenty
of opportunity.
