Sharon B. Easterling, MHA, RHIA, CCS, CDIP, CRC, FAHIMA, is CEO of
Recovery Analytics, LLC, based in Charlotte, NC. Her experience includes past corporate assistant vice president as well as senior director of ambulatory clinical documentation improvement. She is a national speaker and widely published. Easterling
authored the Clinical Documentation Improvement Prep Guide and Exam Book, and is
past winner of the CSA Recognition for Advancing Coding Knowledge through Code-Write. She currently sits on the executive board of the North Carolina Health Information Management Association as past president, is on the AHIMA Coding Classification and Terminologies Practice Council, Wolters Kluwer Advisory Board, and chair of
the advisory board of the American College of Physician Advisors.
Marcia F. Matthias, MJ, RHIA, CHPC, is the corporate director of health information management (HIM) and privacy officer at Southern Illinois Healthcare. Matthias oversees hospital-based and practice management services for HIPAA privacy,
coding, transcription, release of information, HIM operations, clinical documentation improvement, and patient portal management. Matthias has served most recently as president of the Illinois Health Information Management Association. She
currently is serving on the HIM Reimagined Marketing/Messaging Work Group. She
has been a member of the AHIMA Standards Task Force, AHIMA practice councils,
and the state of Illinois HIE Patient Choice and Meaningful Disclosure Work Group.
She has presented at the AHIMA Annual Convention and Exhibit, state, and regional
meetings on a variety of topics including electronic health records, HIPAA privacy,
and patient portals.
Jennifer E. Mueller, MBA, RHIA, FACHE, FAHIMA, is vice president and privacy
officer at the Wisconsin Hospital Association Information Center (WHAIC). Prior to joining WHAIC, Mueller served 19 years as vice president and CIO at Watertown Regional.
She has served the Wisconsin Health Information Management Association (WHIMA)
twice as WHIMA’s president, and is very involved in its leadership. Mueller has received
several awards, including the WHIMA Distinguished Member. Nationally, Mueller has
been on the AHIMA Privacy and Security Council. She has a bachelor’s degree in HIM
as well as a master’s degree in business administration, both from the University of Wis-consin-Milwaukee. Mueller is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives
and the American Health Information Management Association.
